House tour

I'd appreciate some comments in this tour. It's fairly simple (one of the first I produced that was muti-scene).

However, I don't think it looks realistic - should I change the FOV? Also I've started to produce my 360VR using a window size of 800x400. I think I read that this was the optimum ratio - but not so sure for this example.

I think you should decrease your FOV (50 or 60) and increase your pano window.
There is a sort of watermark or maybe dust in your camera, in the first pano, you can see it on the wall like a "J".
Under the heater, in the first pano, there is a white rest of something on the floor...
And last but not least : you should have your own custom cursor

But your visit is very good, I found your drop down thumbnails very good I'll try to copy you tomorrow ....

(I found what makes your panorama not realistic : everything in the house is too clean and ordered, I would have it like that at home....)

Dust is long gone - but I guess I could clone it out.
Thumbnails were Hokpi's, but implemented beautifully

My house is the mirror image of this one - but the owners had tidied up before going on holiday - so a great place to practise! Ours is really untidy (lots of photo gear lying around), and has proper dust, not just on the sensor

The only comment I would make is that the lack of a load bar leaves the viewer not knowing how long they have to wait.

I'll try that. Trying to create a custom cursor at present!

In the documentation is says you have to produce a file with an alpha channel. But it doesn't say exactly what format! I can try a few, but knowing what type might save me a few hours

Thanks - though think I've sussed out how to do it now.

It's all a bit long winded in photoshop though...

However, the tour above now has a new set of custom cursors - though I'm planning to change them a bit to be more consistent. Now I've done it few times it's quite easy.

For me the key actions when creating the photoshop file are to place the new cursor file (assuming you're using some stock icons of some sort) and as you're placing it resize to 32x32 px. Then move the icon to the right place. Turn off the original layer you're using as a place holder. Then save the psd file you're working on as a .png file, with the layers you want to use as cursors visible (and any other not visible). Thus by using layer groups you can have many cursor sets in one master file.

Too late for anything else now!

Thanks for the kind words. The photography was harder then the skin!

The Thumbnail part is actually purchased, so I can't upload it for everyone - though check out http://www.hopkimedia.co.uk/ggs.html . The Buttons are derived from http://gardengnomesoftware.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=5066 - some translation and editing done to make it work the way I wanted it to.
