hi all,
I am just working to convert a bunch of QTVR made some years ago to flash side of the moon, and I realized that i could use a technique developed at that time to show an external record clicking on a hotspot.

Differently from Erik's idea http://gardengnomesoftware.com/forum/vi ... 48&start=0 (that i enjoyed very much  ),

I wanted to call a javascript function that open and center a window with the infos linked. But I can't do this call directly in Pano2Vr, so I use an idea suggested me by the great Hans Nyberg some years ago when Apple blocked any java script calls from inside a QuickTime Hotspot.

The only problem is that the user must not block popup window, but the result seems to work.

What about?

Here is a sample:

BTW (the original work was in http://www.artefede.it (sorry only italian version). Choose a church in the home page and look the vr clicking the black dots on left side map.

Works great for me.

Very cool map an great images.

The blue "Info" - signs are a little improper for my taste.
They perish the great achtitecture of the church.
I would k´like them to be less colorful and small, increasing size when the mouse hovers.
Also would I skip the hotspots, you have a great navigation in the map, having the same
actin twice is redundant in my opinion.
That´s of courseI want the images undisturbed :))) - a visitor may have a complete different
notion.

Hi mhc1,
thanks for having visited my last work.
Really I agree with the "little improper" blue info. But I am not a graphic designer and had no better idea. Can you suggest something else?

And when you spoke about redundant actions, did you report only the horizontal hotspots, not the info, isn't it?

Hi dp.math
I would keep the infos as they are but:

- change the colors to neutral grey
- change the size to 30% and alpha 0.5, when hovered to 50% and alpha 1
- make an "info area" where you can give infos about the buttos, hs etc. at the boundary
of the image (I personally Hopki´s solution). Then infos will not degrade the image itself.
- make this info switchable: useres wo do´t like the may switch these infos off

yes I am talking about about the horizontal HS

there are extremly good designers around in this forum, they may have a different advice.
just my 2c :)
