Hi all,
I've found a way to load and show external images inside my Pano2VR-generated panos, but haven't yet succeeded in inserting an autorotating .swf thumbnail pano. I'd like to use those to make my hotspots more inviting. Did anyone get this working with Pano2VR already?
An experimental example of inserting an external image can be seen here:
small version: http://tinyurl.com/08-06-23-Vinci-small
LARGE version: http://tinyurl.com/08-06-23-Vinci-LARGE
The hotspot can be found at about 305 degrees NorthWest if you use the compass, but I'll make it stand out more in a next version.
Cheers!

Hi Erik,
Could you explain how you inserted the image as a hotspot with this nice effect?
Regards,
Thomas

Here you can see how an external image can be inserted as 'text'
Note that I checked 'Word Wrap', that's important!

Thanks a lot Erik for your quick answer, really appreciated.

That's because I added hotspots that just show the name and function of some of the buildings.
If you follow the instructions of my original post you should be able to find the one we discussed.
When clicked, that hotspot shows the information sign I photographed in that location.
To make it easier to find you can click on the button in the lower right hand corner. This will reveal all (semi-hidden) hotspots.
Oh, there's also a hotspot on the nadir with some info about the artist who designed the square in honor of Leonardo (da Vinci, obviously).

Hello
I struggled a little with this too. That's why I gonna share a template "hotspot showing an external image on click" with you
Here is the template skin Here the settings in the hotspot configuration window I also added a final screenshot showing you the image one that should appear. Hope it helps.
Cheers

Yes, this works well, thank you for this hint, Erik.
I wonder, if I can drag the url information from the hotspot (like e.g. /stills/still_no1.jpg) automaticly into the text field with that image. Whenever I try to do something like <img src="$hu"> it doesn't work. I thought this would be nice to allow you to use one template hotspot instead of several.
Yours,
Michael

Hi Michael,
Although I am anything BUT a Flash expert (faaaaaar from it), I do not think that placeholders can work the way you want them to.
The placeholder appears to be something Thomas himself created inside his Skin-framework, whereas the text-embedded external image call is 'real' Flash. I don't expect variables like $hu to have any meaning to Flash itself.

What a pity...
