Hi, i would like to add a transparent overlay-border as a sprite to my movie, but p2q always loads it untransparent. Im using transparent (interlaced and not interlaced) *.png-Files but that doesnt work.

Additional i dont understand the options "load before panorama" and the three overlay-options and the color-selecting thing beside...

btw, im german, - so if anybody could help me just post it here...

Mark

P.S.: This one is just like i want it to have... http://www.longfingers.com/experiments/ ... vision.php

This must be done with a mask. The one shown looks very much like it was created with Live Stage Pro from http://www.totallyhip.com

This should work with Pano2QTVR + PNGs but only if the alpha channel is REALLY embedded. I never manged to do this with PS only with Gimp. You can do things like http://www.pano2qtvr.com/sample/park_alpha_semi.html . (The blend mode is "alpha"). As a start you should try it with TIFFs (don't forget to include the alpha channel!!!), if this works you can try it with PNGs (because of the smaller file size).

Hi Thomas,

thanks for your help, - but i cant understand that. I created a tiff in PS, created also an alpha-channel and saved it under all available options but i cant get the mask working in my panorama.

And: Im using the german version of p2q and i dont understand the settings "Ãœberlagerung" combined with "Farbe". What does the color-thing mean? Isnt there some kind of manual (even in english) that describes that settings?

I uploaded my tif onto my server http://transfer.familie-simons.de/overlay.tif so maybe you could try your best and tell me the options that you used.

Then i tried using another tiff with hard edges and (no transparency gradient) and this http://transfer.familie-simons.de/maske.zip (1.6MB) works, but what i wanted was some kind of gradient from totally transparent to totally black).

thanks,

Mark

I opend the TIFF in PS, Clicked "Save as", unchecked alpha, unchecked layer. -> Ok -> Checked tranparency -> Ok.

Then I opened the file in Gimp (it looks the same as in PS), clicked "Save as" -> PNG. Resulting file size only 4kb!

Pano2QTVR -> Additional Sprites (Weitere Zusatzfunktionen) -> Add (Hinzufügen) -> Selected Filename, Check visible (sichtbar) -> Blend mode: alpha (Überlagerung: alpha) -> Create

The result: http://www.pano2qtvr.com/sample/park_alpha_border.html

I hope this helps.

Thank you so much Thomas,

i upgraded to 1.2.10 and now i got the additional blend-modes (wich dont exist in 1.2.7), - now it works fine. But i dont understand the color-mixing-thing. What could it be good for to completely make the movie like looking through pink (or whatever) glasses?

The best thing (as always ;-)) is to play around I searched the web but I can't find a good explanation. The best I have found is the QT API documentation.
The numbers are the same as is the script file of Pano2QTVR: http://developer.apple.com/documentatio ... st/srcCopy
Maybe you have better luck.
Btw: The blend modes are also the same as in QuickTime Pro so maybe you find some good tutorial. If you have one, please let me know!

Additional Sprites -> Add -> Blend -> and now the Color-selecting-Thing on the right side. But my original question is answered now, - thank you.

I cant understand that the developer of an application wont know what some feature are good for but as i dont need them i'll buy another tool next time.

Sorry.
